Membership

We are a very friendly society and welcome new members, although we do have a very long waiting list, so it might take a some years to become a full member. One way to jump the queue is to join our very friendly committee with a view to taking on a role in the not too distant future.  We meet 4 times a year.  Please get in touch if you might consider volunteering to help keep this very successful Society running.

However, whilst on the waiting list it is possible to attend up to 3 lectures a year by contacting the Membership Secretary at the email address below at least a week in advance, preferably by email and paying £10 at the door.  We have a limited capacity in the hall so it will not always be possible to attend and checking with the Membership Secretary well in advance is most important.

Annual subscriptions are £50.00 per person and £90.00 for a couple, payable by standing order on 1st November for the following year.  Members are also invited to complete a Gift Aid form.

We hold 10 excellent and varied lectures on the last Tuesday of the month, excluding July and August, and the December one is earlier for obvious reasons.  We offer coffee/tea and biscuits before each lecture and this is an opportunity for some friendly socialising and for new members to meet existing ones.

Members receive our regular newletters by email, and those on the waiting list are occasionally included and may also be invited to join visits and other events depending on uptake from full members.

Committee members are available at each meeting to answer any questions and to ensure new members are introduced to others and feel a full and valued part of the Society.
